Just a quick update for the Skeleton Pack upgrade. Click here to purchase the existing version Skeleton Pack.

Here is a sneak peak of what's inside the upgrade 1.1 for the Skeleton Pack.

Cue ominous music....

The Skeleton Liche King

From a technical point of view, work is nearing completion. The main feature will be the inclusion of some library objects from my graveyard pack - ( which wont be released now Todd!!! - just kidding ), the Liche King and a bunch of angry Skeleton Warriors all packed into a Level. The Level shows you how to construct generators, gate and key combos, mazes, powerups, and end of level boss to make a compelling game event. Hopefully this will help people get started on making their own games.

Update 10 will be the official release Blog... stay tuned.

How's the 3Dmax source animations coming along?

Andy Hawkins   (Jan 20, 2007 at 22:37 GMT)
The Max source anims are on standby at the moment - due to technical issues. If they don't make it to the 1.1 update I will do a 1.2 update shortly after. Basically they are complete, the animator is testing them but there are extenuating circumstances beyond his control that is holding the release back. It's a personal issue so that's about all I can say.

I am looking forward to this. Outstanding work.

Thanks Fucifer.

Max users, don't get disappointed. The anims will arrive. So please be patient.

Actually while I'm here, any requests on moves you'd like to see the Skelly King do? Currently he's programmed to do the following.

1. Dodge left and right.
2. Perform a path move out of his portal to set up the scene.
3. Follow several paths in sequence like a 2d shooter boss would.
4. Barrages the player with lightening balls.
5. Can spawn Skeleton Warriors until you destroy the power gems on the outside walls of his tomb.

Very Cool! Nice stuff Andy!

Okashira   (Jan 21, 2007 at 13:57 GMT)
Nice job Andy! On the Skelly King's moves, maybe one where he teleports behind the player, goes for a whack, then teleports back?

Andy Hawkins   (Jan 21, 2007 at 14:50 GMT)
@Okashira - great idea. You know those emails that are floating around where they say "if you look closely enough you can see a ghost...they make you wait, then BAM! They shove a wailing banshee in your face with a horid scream"... well I think when the Skelly King does warp behind you, then he pops out all of sudden and makes a psychic attack, doing the same thing. If I do it right it'll scare the pants off the player.

ps here's the correct URL for the gg product page : http://www.garagegames.com/products/100/ (this one displays images properly)

Your work just gets better all the time!

Sounds fun! I could see it as a complete game, after this level then you have two Liche Kings! and so forth...

Yeah the teleporting is a great idea! No playing up late for me!

Andy Hawkins   (Jan 21, 2007 at 23:03 GMT)
@Josh - Fixer'd thanks :)

@Edward - Thank you :) Yes it would make for a great game - but you would need to add more locations and creatures for a compelling game.

I do really look forward to purchasing this content pack. Please do post a blog when the max animations get in, whenever they do.
