Drivers tests, liquid nitrogen, playermodels, scatter mortars, flamethrowers, etc
Wow, my second .plan! Hehe...
ALright, where to start. I got my drivers license yesterday (my birthday), though the process was a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. Suffice it to say that despite the fact i'm a very good driver, i almost failed the test thanks to hypocritical governmental employees, a jinky clutch pedal, and some idiot in a giant white suburban on a cell phone... But, i have the plastic now, which is all that really matters.
Secondly, various escapades with N2(L). We had the traditional shattering flowers and imploding golf balls in chem, plus the shattering bouncy ball (always fun).
On a much less academic note, me and a few friends are undertaking a liquid nitrogen cooling system for a heavily overclocked and overvolted CPU, probably as a spring break project. The team is as follows: Eric (aka Iggy, Spent Lemon 3d modeler) the hardware genius and hardware modification maniac (he had his Radeon 9800 Pro for about 24 hours before volt modding it), Cory, who's father works in the UO science labs and has offered to score us the liquid nirogen, and who is generally good with tech, and then me, the guy crazy enough to lend the basement, equipment. This should be fun :D
But on to more game-related things. If anything, what the past few weeks have shown me is that the Spent Lemon team really has the initiative to pull this off. GWP and Iggy have taken the independant study course "Computer Apps 2" at school to get time to work on game things. the_plague has been finding ways to do whatever he can to contribue despite family disputes resulting in a lack of internet for him, and Dresden has fixed his very very bizarre computer and was finally able to install QuArK, and is making great strides with it already. All of what I listed, and the fact that everybody has been coming up with all these great ideas... Well, anyway, i'm happy with where we're going with this project. For example, we finalized a playermodel sketch, which Iggy is modeling now. Dont have a scan of it available, but i'll submit a dev. snapshot once it's done and we have some of the new weapons in place.
Speaking of new weapons... :P
Added to our arsenal are the Scatter Mortar and the Flamethrower. The Scatter Mortar is exactly how it sounds -- it shoots 6 small arcing mortar shells in a random spread pattern. Think of it as the shotgun of mortars if you will. The idea is for use when you need to spread out the damage across a group of enemies, or for attacking vehicles, to level the playing field a bit.
The flamethrower is actually giving me a few problems. Mind you, I havn't invested a whole lot of time in it, but i know i'll have to strip down the particle count... After a few seconds of firing, the projectiles just stopped appearing, tho they were still there and i could still see the explosions :P so that'll take some work...
Well i'll wrap this up now, I have a Halo CE date in a few minutes and a movie date tomorrow :)
