good job on the Game!, are you guys willing to teach someone the process of making games I live in Pawtucket,RI and I could sure use the help on developing games like an internship * as he is praying*

Pretty fun game, though it seems prematurely released. I liked the nice graphics, straight forward and easy to learn gameplay, and arcade action feel. I didn't like the wsad ship control (it was awkward for it to be always facing where your mouse was and movement just didn't "feel" right, too stiff), the difficulty (too easy on both levels, hardly ever lost life and only half tried to play well), and the "hardcore" guitar riff music. Also, I encountered a HUGE bug where a level finished (no more enemies) but it wouldn't let me go to the next level, I was stuck on the level I was on and was forced to quit; and most levels, especially towards the end, would have an off-screen enemy that I couldn't see but would have to shoot to complete the level. Also, the EULA says that you have 2 hours of playtime, but you only have 1. This game has a lot of things going for it and I hope you continue to work on it more; if not, it's still a great game as it is. And of course it's gotta feel good to ship!

I found another frustrating bug. At times, my mouse cursor would disappear and the ship would then stay frozen at an angle pointing exactly to the right. If I moved up and down, or wherever, the ship would stay shooting to the right like a side-scrolling shooter. If I moved the mouse, the cursor would then re-appear at the same place it disappeared at, and the ship would re-align itself to aim towards the cursor again. The best example of reproducing this is if you leave your mouse in the center of the screen perfectly still and "strafe" all around the screen shooting enemies. After a short while the bug will crop up.

edit: one more bug. when your game company logo comes up, if you hit "enter" to skip past the logo, the window then goes from full screen to windowed mode, with a window title of SDL_app, the graphics are all garbled (though you hear music), and you can't start a game and have to endtask the app.

edit2: last thing, I just found the game setup options in the C:\program files\ directory, where I made the game more difficult (much more fun now) and set the screen resolution way up (640x480 default!?) so it looks even better now too. but the AD Config.exe should be integrated in the game, so I can set these things from inside the game, not by going hunting for it. when it installed into my start menu, it only installed the program start and uninstall icons, no setup options! there's also a level editor -- that's sweet, but it's not mentioned and is also buried, too.

Thanks for all the feedback Josh. Did you download the demo from Reflexive or from our site? Just curious. We'll certainly check out these bugs. Part of the process...live and learn. :)

I downloaded it using the link provided above (reflexive). I'm sure you'll nab those bugs pretty easily. Again, good luck with the launch!
