Introduction
Hello, this blog is to announce a game that I've been working on for a little while now under my company Cantano Games. To develop Storm Tanks, I've partnered up with Juan Sanchez (check out jls3d.com). I've been handling all the coding, scripting, and GUI creation aspects, where as Juan Sanchez has worked on the art, maps, and sounds for the game. Note: This is my first ever blog, I hope to have more blogs over time, so we'll see what I can actually keep up with.
Storm Tanks
The game is based in a war ravaged not-so-distance future. Players are given their choice of up to 10 different tanks. Each tank has a primary weapon, and a special ability, along with the two secondary weapons that the player can select to mount to the tank's turret. Each tank has a very different primary weapon, ranging from Explosive Projectiles, to Napalm Blasts, Artillery shots, Ion Cannon, to Solid Beam lasers. Specials range everywhere from scouts which can be launched, to Electronic Magnetic Pulses, Cloaking, Shields, and more. With each tank's special weapon and ability comes a different skill set required to use that tank to it's fullest advantage.
The maps are designed to cover a large range of scenarios from Abandoned City streets, Destroyed Ruins, forests, Industrial Plants, and wide open deserts. This game is focusing heavily on the multiplayer gameplay, with a single player campaign down the line a possibility, but not a priority. There will be several different game types, each one changing the mechanics a good bit, but all will incorporate our lance system for Commanders, Munitions, Engineers, and Deployer for the tanks, with special features to help lances work together to emphasize the focus on teamwork.
Web Site
The website can be seen at cantanogames.com/games/stormtanks. The game and the site are definitely works in progress, but I've got some stuff of interest on the site..

I've also got a multitude of other older screen shots showing different stages in development www.cantanogames.com/misc/tankstorm/
Conclusion
Well, that's it for now. I just wanted to post a quick introductory blog, in future posts I'll discuss details and challenges of implementing the features and how they were overcome. Please leave any comments, questions, or suggestions, I love to hear feed back, good or bad, so long as it's productive criticism. Thanks,
Timothy Dix, aka Raverix

Any chance you guys will release a Sci-fi explosion pack (hint). I see the newer explosion content pack is put to some serious use. And a few added kudos to the site as well. Nothing much to crit about except where do we download the demo :))

*If features available in game, mabe final retail? With updates? That'd be cool and probably a GG bestseller!
