SunBurn continued, including screenshots and a re-enactment movie of the Boston Tea Party!
... continued from this .plan

In my last .plan I mentioned SunBurn, the Civ game Nauris and I are working on. As Nauris is still offline due to the untimely demise of his computer, I figured I'd prototype as much as possible for GID16.

I actually achieved my goal of getting it to a playable stage, which makes me happy. Not only that, but a large proportion of the core infrastructure that needed to be in place is now there.

I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. Here's some screenshots:

And here's my re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party:

I like how you have the American ships winning over the British in most of the pics. Very realistic. :p

Yes, that simulates the annoying way in which they sunk all our tea. If you watch the movie, we actually win ;-)

Yeeeus!!!! Show those brits what we're made of, Yeah!!!!! That's what I like to call an opened can of Americano!!... wait... we had ships??

Tom Bampton   (Nov 01, 2005 at 03:56 GMT)
Eric, I dont actually know ;-) Ships were the only units i had to hand for placeholder and the brit vs america thing kinda reminded me about the boston tea party.

Having our 'merkin buddies as pirates, isnt a political statement now is it? :-)

Actually, I don't think the US had a navy during the revolution...the French helped teh Americans for the most part...and then we backstabbed >_>

brings back memories of starcraft...

As far as screenshots go, these are quite nice, but they would be a lot better with sea serpents or mermaids.
