Poking through the Torque code.
I had an idea for a really dumb, goofy game that probably wouldn't be that difficult to implement, even for one person alone - me - in the spare time I have after I get home from work. So I bought the Torque engine and am currently in the state of digging through the code and trying to figure out how the scripts talk to the engine, how the various objects know how to draw themselves, etc., and where I need to insert code to add, say, a whirling crowbar of death or whatever. It is currently a little daunting, because it seems not super-well documented.
My current timeframe for this project to be completed is as follows.
Design Document: probably never
Preliminary Artwork: probably never
Technology Demo (essential game mechanics w/no artwork - i.e. battling bounding boxes): maybe 1 month (6/10/2003)
Basic Demo (essential game mechanics w/standin models/art): 6 months (11/10/2003)
Releasable Demo (full or expanded game mechanics w/preliminary art): probably never
Full game: Probably never.
