Actual Progress!
Kinda.
Having not touched The Game since my last plan, merely poking at it with a stick feels like a Major Event (if only by comparison).
The team got together last Saturday (7/23/05) and actually worked together for about 4 hours. Sketches were drawn (the art types are still working on their concept stuff), script was written (more messing around with starter.fps's AIManager on my part), and plans were made for Next Time.
We're looking at sigificantly changing the way our game feels... moving from a Really Big Ship to a Really Big Tank: Rolling around on the ground instead of flying through space. Much of the gameplay will remain the same, but this way we can make use of more of the existing assets out there now, to help us get a leg up.
We're also thinking that at the end, the player will have built the ship that was to be the center of the original game design... Nice little segue there... plus that'll let us reuse a lot of the art/script/code from this first game in the second. Good stuff.
KISS: Keep it simple, stupid! (or we'll never finish)
