I've been an owner of TGE for some time, played with bits and pieces, but never done anything solid with it, basically I've always allowed myself to be distracted by bright shiny things, and trying to find the easiest way to do something, and all I've succeeded in doing, is wasting both my time, and that of others. I've had teams pop up we make progress then fall down, sometimes it's me, sometimes it's not. a few weeks ago I decided that I was going about it all wrong. Instead of trying to look for that ever evasive "make my hit game button" I sat down and picked up an old project I had originally started developing using the Auran Jet engine, for their once off Next Years Game competition. That fell in a heap, but I felt that the design was good enough, and with a bit of a spit and polish, and an update, would be excellent for my first full blown foray into Torque.
Dungeon Run, is now under development. At this early stage, I'm concentrating solely on the code, and not the graphics, so fluffy is going to get a work out for a while yet. My point is I'm back playing with Torque, in this case TSE, I've found that a number of resources work quite nicely with TSE, once you get past the change in texture handling and the reliance on dgl.
Watch this space for information regarding what I'm doing and screenies, but it will be a while yet:)
Dreamer and his mmo tutes, have some good stuff in them, even if your not making an mmo, and some of Beffy's tutorials available have come in real handy as well.
My biggest thanky you though goes out to Tom, and Torsion, That thing rocks, still some features I would like to see like search and replace, but all in all it kicks but for script development.
