I made a huge behind the scenes site update today, hopefully none of you noticed. I reworked all the session, cookie and remember me code to facilitate some sub domains that will be coming online in the near future (ahem ..TDN).

If anyone has problems logging in, check that cookies are enabled, stop and restart your browser. If the problem persists please contact me.

Rick,

I did notice a warning that came up saying that I needed to be logged in to access this page, I have my home page set to ...

http://www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=my&mod=home&page=home

I refreshed and It was fine, but just something other users may see.

Didn't notice a thing :)

I'm looking forward to seeing how TDN pans out.

I didn't notice anything. I'm still logged in and can see my account info.

Hmm, "sub domains" with an 's'. Wonder what else is out there....

I noticed.

I logged in... then went back to the community page and my log in didnt take. I went and logged in again and same thing.

I had to navigate to the community page then refresh to get it to show properly.

Same for the "Mark All as Read" button in "Read Unread Posts"

Have to refresh the browser (IE6) before it updates it.

I just re-logged in (as the old cookie seemed to be invalid) and everything seems fine.

Oh the horror!! The agony!! I can't handle it anymore, the site is... is... fine.

I keep having to relogin every few days.. and I've got cookies enabled.

Joseph Euan   (Jul 22, 2005 at 23:31 GMT)
I've had to login a few times. (Using FF 1.6)

Josiah Pisciotta   (Jul 23, 2005 at 20:04 GMT)
I noticed it does not seem to log me in automatically like it used to. I have had to log in myself the last few times. That is the only difference I have noticed.

Jeff Gran   (Jul 24, 2005 at 11:47 GMT)
I've been having to re-login every day or two lately....

Darren Stuart   (Jul 25, 2005 at 20:05 GMT)
yeah I have the same problem the cookie seems to die after a while and I have to relog in.

at a guess its between 12 and 24 hours.

in short every day I have to relog in.

Gary Preston   (Jul 28, 2005 at 00:34 GMT)
I'm having to re-login every day, I know its only a small inconvenience, but it does get annoying very quickly. If the cookies have to expire, then once a week would be fine, in fact pretty much anything other than every day or two :)

Jason "TGB BOY" Cahill   (Jul 28, 2005 at 02:11 GMT)
My cookies seem to expire daily as well. I have to relog in from every computer I read your website from, which is several a week. Can we go back to the old behavior, where my cookies never expire?

Rodney (OldRod) Burns   (Jul 29, 2005 at 17:36 GMT)
I just looked... I have 5 different Garagegames Cookies. My "remember me" cookie is set to expire in a month, but there is a _utmb cookie that expires in an hour. Could the site be looking at the wrong cookie or something?

Anders Jacobsen   (Jul 31, 2005 at 22:50 GMT)
My cookie seem to have expired every time I visit (almost, usually not during a re-visit the same day tho)
I'm using Opera if that makes any difference.
