Blog post
A quick .plan from the road. My wife and I have been in SanFrancisco this week visiting family and showing off Zachary. In the after hours I have been working on the website, mostly doing some much needed updating and cleanup on the forum system. No real new end-user features but I have fixed the problem where your posts get eaten if you view any other forum page. Under the hood I have touched a lot of code... I updated the forum system to use direct urls, we had been using an indirect indexing scheme which we are trying to move away from. Also all the forum submission forms now use our new form code. Also added the ability for us to hide some forums so we can keep product support forums from clutting the global forum listing. Many other incidental changes to bring the code up to PHP 4.3.x specs, this is some of the oldest code on the site and it is suprising how much PHP has changed from the 4.0.x releases.

I will be uploading the code from here to a staging area so the guys in Eugene can test a bit, but we will likely wait to upload it to the live site until I return early next week. Until then here is a picture of SanFrancisco from the backyard of my inlaw's house.

It's good to know that that bug of the posts being eaten was killed.

Definetly nice view :)

Rick,

This is probably not related but when you select a work sample in a member profile, the URL is prefixed with Garage Games. Is this intentional?

One of mine is...

www.garagegames.com/www.melv.may.btinternet.co.uk

Can we see a shot at night some time? That's gotta look impressive :)

This is a very good idea.

...it is a most impressive sight, I don't know from that vantage point, but from the East Bay hills near the RHI labs....it is most picturesque on a fogless summer night! You get two bridges for the price of one...
