Low Spec will be supported.
We launched Market Value and it wasn't set up for a low spec system. We knew the pitfalls of this move (especially with this sort of game) but decided to launch it and see what the response was.

Without waiting two days though we've gone ahead and decided to add a low spec mode. It's great as the puzzle engine we're using allows us to throw in basically anything and just use it. Code didn't have to be changed beside a few switches to allow for "low" quads with rendered textures or "high" which uses full 3D models and lighting. Part of our main motivation for a low spec mode was a strange problem with older 3D hardware and overexposed lighting. Now we're not using any lights other than ambient light and it actually makes for a still nice looking game ... not as cool looking as the full 3D with lighting but nevertheless it's nice and playable.

This low spec is something we had talked about adding the whole time. It wasn't until we actually let the game out though that we said ... no wait we really need to add this low spec mode, why didn't we just add it ... followed by a smack to both our heads ;)

Do you have any before/after pics? I'd love to see some comparisons from low/high mode!
