HackIt:
I am finally able to post some updates on HackIt, the 3D puzzle games I have developed in the past.
HackIt will be release shortly, as I have managed to finally find a publisher.
I haven't worked on the game for quite some time and am happy that it will find its way out of my door.
RealmWars2:
Some weeks ago we had an internal playtest for RealmWars2. Unfortunately we realized, that there is no more a strong interest in the game, so that we decided to stop the development until something happens (e.g. a publisher waving with some money or things like that).
New Project:
Since the halted RW2 projects freed up some resources, I have joined MaxGaming for a currently un-announced game. Obviously I cannot talk about this, but at least I can tell that I am much exited about the development. Expect a killer game as never seen before (Hint: the game is TSE based ;) )
FIFA World Cup 2006:
Last but not least I want to mention that the soccer world cup in Germany is about to begin in a few days. I am from Germany and am happy to see, that the whole country is beginning to vibrate in the light of the upcoming event. As a long time hobby player I am very pleased to have the event right next door. Unfortunately it is damn hard to get tickets, since the events are heavily overbooked, but at least we have a lot of outdoor parties going on during the games.

I remember, I was in Chicago when the '94 World Cup was held in the states and it sure was fun. I got myself a job in security just to be in all the games!
Edit: Sorry, I accidentally rated it.

I don't want to tell you what to do or anything, but you should really finish your first projects before you move on to other ones. But thats just reccomended by me, you can do whatever you want.

I have worked with Markus daily for the past year and a bit and I have to say that he is probably one of the most underrated talents in this community. His drive, dedication and determination on the work that he does is second to none and if you question his ability to finish a product I would strongly recommend that you take a look at the game he co-developed "Hack It".
"Hack It" is a pretty dammed cool puzzle game that Markus and his business partner have been developing for the past year or two while receiving little to no help from this community. So the fact that they can make a very rich and entertaining game against all the odds that they faced is a pretty good sign that yes Markus can finish products and probably knows more about what he is doing making games and working with this game engine than anyone but a small handful of people here in the community.
As such I can say without a doubt that Markus knows what to do and how to do it and as much as it sucks that work has to stop on a project, you will learn that sometimes it is necessary from a business standpoint to put a project aside.
@Markus
Looking forward to seeing Hack It finally available for retail sale, its been a long time coming.

Was the game developed with Torque?

@Ian: Unfortunalely they seem to have lost interest in RW2. Since they own the RW IP, we cannot go forth and complete they game and have another publisher sell it. That's why it no longer makes sense for us to continue the development.
On the other hand RW2 (already the stuff you may have seen on IGC 05) is no more based on the code and art of the Realm Wars Comunity Project (exception is the Orc). So we could simply rename it, throw out the orc and finish it for another publisher. The bad thing is, there seems to be no high publisher interest in a RealmWars style game and there seems to be not so much general interest in this game, that we can risk a self-publishing. So we came to the only conclusion, that makes sense: Stop the project and concentrate on other stuff.
@Wiley: Yes, HackIt is TGE 1.3 based. It was the first torque project I did and we (my partner and me) finished it up in a VERY polished way. We started this project to with the goal, to make a simple game, that helps us to get into torque quickly and be sure, that we really finish it in a professional and commertial way.
So HackIt became super polished, with all bells and whisles. Since it is a two man project, Ivan doing the art and me doing the programming, we achieved a lot with this little puzzle game.
My friends over at MaxGaming showed HackIt at IGC 05 and Jeff Tunnel commented somewhere on the GG boards later on, that HackIt is very polished, but unfotunately too simplistic. He would have liked to see a more interesting gameplay for this super polished thing. While I must agree with him, that the game is kind of too simplistic for the GG comunity that is somewhat in love with fast action and FPS based games, I do not agree with this statement in general.
We perfectly meet our goal to finish the game in commertial quality and I think there are lot's of casual gamers and young gamers (kids) out there, that will be very pleased by the beauty of the game and will love playing it.
@Andrew: Yeah man, can't wait for the games to start. In fact I see England as one of the favourites, so it will become very interesting for you, too. Haven't checked this, but I really hope we meet England not earlier than in the final :)
@Logan: Your right, that we had no support form the comunity while developing HackIt, but I am very thank ful for Adrian Wright, Justin Meete and you, Logan, in beta testing the game. You guys gave me very useful input and helped to get the game to this high quality. Thanks again.
