Publishing Calendar Extended

I've had to go back to publishing new content every Tues and Thurs, or twice each week, in order to keep the regular content rolling without running dry. A lot of things have been drawing me away from getting new content ready to roll out - I have a decent amount waiting in the wings but what I really need are fresh submissions. If you or anyone you know is thinking about contributing a piece, drop me a line at writers@gamedev.net

Facebook Page

If you've not seen yet, GDNet has a Facebook page. Dave came up with the idea, and after a bit of deliberation we (him, myself and Seyi) agreed that it was worthwhile. We already have a group that was started by Promit, but we considered that to be its own entity - in fact we have no hand whatsoever in the moderatorship or ownership of that group. But that's okay, cause Promit's a cool guy that doesnt afraid of anything. The goal of the Facebook page is simply to help increase our exposure, provide a nice "About Us" for the Facebook crowd, and let us notify you all of important announcements (if you're a fan).

Help Build the New GDNet

Superpig is still collecting stories from people in regards to their use of GDNet and goals in the industry, so if you haven't told yours yet, please do so. This is all being included in our review as we focus these upcoming summer months on a whole new look and architecture for GameDev.net. In order to make it as close as possible to satisfying your needs, we need to know what those needs are. So help us help you!

What's Your Favorite Article?

Can you recall an article (or few) that you've read here on GDNet and found to be extremely helpful to you? If so, head on over to this thread and let me know what it is and why you thought it was a good read. I'll be picking a random name from the people who respond for a book giveaway. Sorry to clutter up the forums with another Announcement thread, but it's for good purpose.

Tiffany's Back!

For those of you who remember her, Tiff used to be more active in the site, socializing on the boards and helping with the news. She'll be doing much the same in the spare time that she has, which is nice because honestly the news has started to become a bit tedious for me amongst all the other stuff I'm doing. I also hope Emmanuel has some time to spare in the future as well, that'd make for a great news team. In the meantime though, you can thank Tiff for any front page goodness that appears from now on.

New Articles

Besides the Featured Articles that went up this past week, I've also added links in the Reference section to Mark Morris' excellent articles over at Bit-tech.net on how to start your own games studio. Mark's the leader of the team at Introversion (Darwinia, Uplink) and well worth listening to, so be sure to give them a read through - I think there's more on the way. I link to them from the News section so keep your eyes peeled there for more.
