Howdy readers, thanks first of all for the feedback last week, it was much appreciated. Much as I enjoyed copying Mitten's style it seems popular opinion is more in favor of the listings - which is fine by me. So enough babble and fluffage from me, here are your entries from this past week:
WIP Stuffs - No specific entries here, just lotsa eye candy of works in progress for you to feast your eyes on should they be hungry.
* Stompy's Gamedev Journal - Lots of screenies of Stompy's next game, a Megaman-esque fighting platformer
* Oddgames development journal - O-san's progress in his isometric editor/game
* The never-ending story... - ahayweh's work on a 2D side scroller. What's with the redraw? I do not know.
* Bennu - Demosthenes's progress on a 2D puzzler with some snazzy graphics
* Radioactive-Software - Dan Green returns with another update on Urban Empires
Codes Stuffs - snippets, random thoughts, applications - it's all here!
* Any Colour You Like - this past week, Benryves has been working on a raytracer which of course has yielded awesome results so far
* On the path with a ramblin' man - one of our resident DirectX MVP's, Jack Hoxley takes a stab at a Visual Studio HLSL/FX editor
* The Bag of Holding - Mike Lewis dumps his brain out on several software engineering topics for your thoughtful consumption (of the topics, not his brain. Sicko)
* Journal of dbaumgart - in a topic related to coding, Dave Baumgart talks about embedding data into images. I like doing this too.
* DruinkJournal - need code to to create a windows explorer style app, using a treeview control? Don't ask Evil Steve, or he'll hit you over the head with a keg and just direct you to this journal entry.
* Excursions into the Unknown - Mike.Popoloski shares code of a wrapper he built around the Bitmap class in .NET for better functionality
* Journal of dcosborn - dcosborn details a nifty macro-killing technique to regain use of the far and near keywords for his frustum class. As a bonus, you also get to see his progress on utilizing dynamic AABB.
Games Stuffs - got free time to play some games this weekend? Of course not, GTA4 just came out. But should you be one of the few not playing it, here's two ways to pass the time.
* mittentacular - Mittens releases an update for Asplode!
* Journal of lucius - should you happen to have a copy of Dark Forces lying around, check out lucius' hardware-accelerated version
Extra Goodies - random tidbits that could still capture your interest
* Gaiiden's Scroll - playing GTA4 and want to have some fun? (besides the fun you're having just playing the game, of course) I found a nice spot safe from cops and helicopters where you can still fully utilize your weapons on them
* MMORPG Development - Reddox reviews Mario Kart Wii
* Readme.txt - one of our founding fathers, Kevin Hawkins, returns with some regular updates
* The Realm of Trial - halfway through his post, DecipherOne shares his thoughts on the whole gaming violence issue, spurred on by a recent Glenn Beck commentary
Damn, Journal Land - you're keeping me busy!! See you all next week.
