Happy Birthday Basement Blog!
First order of business is to note the coincidence of this day as it is indeed the 10th anniversary of John Hattan's The The Code Zone Bargain Basement Blog. I'm sure he'll regale us with a tale of where things have gone over the last ten years of his spouting "game development wisdom of dubious quality." So keep an eye on his journal. Also, don't forget that he's running a contest for a company logo with a $100 cash prize (among other cool stuff). Okay it's not $1,000 and it's not $1,000,000 dollars, but it's still got a few zeroes on it so if you've got any artistic chops at all, check it out.
Let the Tales begin!
Now then, onto more good stuff:
* Journal of Ysaneya - Ysaneya talks terrain texturing. While you're there, click over to the 24th on his calendar and witness ~12000 images contributed for his game. Wowzers.
* Any Colour You Like - benryves talks about creating a thumbnailer with .NET on Vista
* The Bag of Holding - Mike returns with a sorta-sequel to his last featured journal entry, talking about various aspects regarding team management. Take note all you overlords out there.
* Big Trouble In Little Chairtown - there's posting pretty pictures and videos of your game, and then there's posting pretty videos/pictures and detailing various aspects of your engineering and design behind them. Extra effort shall be rewarded thusly
* Radioactive-Software - in-game video footage of an AK-47, a trash/debris system, general game updates, a look at his lair and the new rig that will eat you to keep it powered - three days of updates to occupy you for at least a good 15 minutes
* Gaiiden's Scroll - last week was newsletter publishing, this week is the even longer and more involved process of article publishing
Also worth mention...
While not directly related to game development, there were two insightful pieces on games worth a read:
* Journal of Rawr - mittens talks about the new Sims 3 that was announced over the past week or so. I'm excited as well. So is my sister.
* Not dead... - phantom gives his review of Lost Odyssey on the 360
Have a good weekend everyone, come back on Monday for mitten's continual news reports.

Couldn't help but notice you as a judge over the Student Challenge at Game Institute. Have a good time judging.
