Hey guys. If any of you use GDnet as a resource and would like to have a say in the direction of publishing content on the site, then I invite you to head on over and share your opinions in this thread

Hmm, I think you should make sure that when someone does a series, they have enough "in the bag" to be able to post on a tighter schedule (say every 2 weeks). Then one-offs I'd post on a loose regular schedule (so say two a month).

I know how hard it can be to stick to a writing schedule when youre up to your neck in code, so having hard limits for things cant work. Having a semi-loose schedule works UNLESS it's a series, in which case, you should really get at least enough for maybe 2 months of release in the bag before announcing the series.

Ah, good suggestion Phil. Luckily, I've written a 4-part series myself so I know how hard it can be to finish! I've also been around GDnet long enough to see many series start and fail. One of the first things I did when becoming Ex Producer was to say "no more incomplete series!!!" It's actually in our publishing guidelines that series must be submitted in full before we start to publish them. The current series of Linux articles met this requirement and I'm sticking to it!
