The first sign of virtual life in Delphire has surfaced at the CSE cyber offices. It's been very interesting... and now Orb also has virtual world. For 5 years it's just been on paper, now with a team of programmers, artists, writers, and designers, it's finally coming together.
5 years ago we started writing on a fantasy storyline. We started work with 3d Gamestudio back then, and after the storyline and ganaeral gameplay design was completed, we realized 3d Gamestudio was not going to cut it. We switched over to Torque because it was much better for outdoor enviroments. Now, with a programmer with 20 years experience (7 of them in 3d) and another being mentored by him, an amazing art team, a great writing team, great design and tech teams, and support of an ever growing fan base on our own forums and elsewhere, we're ecstatic about where our game(s) are going.
We now have a Milestone One deadline of Dec (internal demo showing 3 levels), and a Milestone Two Deadline of April (three levels done and fully ported from TGE to TSE.) We have plans to show the demo to numerous publishers at E3 2006 including Nintendo, Atlus, Ubisoft, and Dreamcatcher.
Most recently we've had 3 new modellers show up from the clear blue (they joined from viewing our posts on forums and just visting our site.) Of those three modellers two have experience in the industry with other developers, and one has experience in the modding community from Unreal Tournament. It's been amazing how fast things have started to come together. Earlier this year we we're struggling, now we have the first model, and almost the first level (1 of 60)... done.
