Phew, time sure goes by fast, and some times even with a lot of work, not much seems to get done. Well after alot of work, collision works in game genericly. It's sort of disappointing since the games ends up looking the same before you started.
I went through several different 3rd part collision libraries. Swift, ColDet and Solid. All three had various bugs and problems. I eventually settled on using Solid, the API is nice simple and it seems to work pretty well. I had swift working as well but i kept getting strange inconsistances with it. The problem with Solid is that it only does uses various forms of convex hulls for collision checking, and deleting objects with the caching turned on causes a crash. I talked to the authors and got around it by creating local cache of collision handles and never deleting my objects.
If i have time, i'd probably like to give Swift another go since it'll give polygon precise collision. And their author finally responded to my bug reports after a month :) Oh yes, added new screen shots and a new build up on the website.
