Well- it's done (at least at the moment - 3 AM- I like to think so). Surprisingly polish mail services somehow managed to deliver to mi miniature so in the end I could take a look how original mini looks like in real life. Not that it changed much- most of modifications were around neck- wires at the back of head, some additional helmet details, kind of a ring around neck and some geometry optimalizations- that's it. Now most painful part- preparation of UV's. I've removed "eyes" from geometry as they will look much better made on normal map (not to mention it will make entire model much "lighter"). Same goes for many small details that you can spot on original- I did not gave up on creating them, I just hope that normal map will be enough to make them look ok. No other way of checking this out then to actually do it and see- so far TSE normal maps worked great for me.

Awesome, been following this. I'm psyched to see the results!

Cool. Got rid of the excess polys nicely. What Polycount does he weigh in now? Nice one. Texture, texture, texture! ;)

Polycount is 4.8 K. I think I still can remove about hundred or so but I do not think it's worth sweating- performance difference will be minimal.
