I introduce myself and beg for help in my own clueless way.
Oooh boy, my first .plan! Haha, I'm so excited. Well, I guess I'd better write a little about myself. I'm a fourteen year old (stop laughing, damnit!) computer geek, who lives on Long Island, New York. I'm pretty damn good in Visual BASIC, and okay in C. I "work" for sfsoftware.zophar.net. I recieved the Torque engine for my birthday several months ago, and now I feel I'm ready to use it. I'm gonna try to make a series of simple projects to eventually lead up to a few largish projects, which will hopefully satisfy my short attention span for the beginning.

So, before I start cracking (I'm going to play around with the scripts in the fps demo), I'd like to ask two questions:

1)Did you guys start actually editing the engine's code at the beginning of your use of it, or did that come much later after you experiemented with modding?

2)Do you guys know of any good, comprehensive tutorials that walk your way through Torque Scripting?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys may or may not give me.

Personally I started modifying stuff in the script code then later moved into the engine code. It's generally recommended to do as much stuff in the script code as you can anyway even after you become proficient in both areas.

For some tutorials check out the Torque Engine SDK Docs. There's also some good info in the Resources section over to the right of this page.
