Toons Updates..
Well making more progress on the game..

working mostly on textures and level design right now, hopefully It will start to come together soon.. :)
I decided to go with a worldmap design that has individual portals/exits that take you to a new level, and then have the exit there loop you back to your original spot back in the worldmap..

So I will need a way to save the info in the map to a seperate file, so it will tell how many coins are left and how many are gone..

also would like a way to block different areas of the worldmap until you get a certain sum of coins...
say get 30 coins and a door opens to a new section of the worldmap..

oh well thats a while down the road...

here is a pic and some vids tho in the mean time.. :)

Nice GUI... but I think the "coinz" text needs more work

IMO, all the beveling looks a tad cheap.

So your saying I need more beveling? :)

The thing is I do all my own textures and art.. so if it looks horrible its because I am not an artist :)

But I am trying.... which I dont think is cheap at all....

I am constantly changing the main menu guis and such trying to get a good look.. I think its still not right but I dont think its cheap.. :)

But everyone has the right to their opinions.. :)

@Tom

Well... we do post here for feedback (good or bad). But I'm also very careful how I state my opinions.

From one programmer to another... I'm never happy with my GUI or art. But it's still a process that I think is good for me to go through. I like learning what it is I will eventually ask of an artist.

I like the vids... they all have a certain style to them. I really like how you used a TRIGGER? to load the next mission. I too am doing something similar.

When your getting closer to done, you definately should hire a professional for your GUI. Its the first thing that a user sees when they fire up the game, and if its noticebly poor, their opinion on the game play is already low thanks to the GUI haveing set the bar before they even played.

Well I dont know if I will sell this or if I will just throw it out there.. :)

So I dont want to throw alot of money into it..

I really only do this as a hobby to learn new things.. so I am sure eventually I will hit the right gui design and style.. :)

The default gui just didnt fit in right tho.. :) Orc and all that...

I am thinking minimalistic would be good..

like a flat back ground and some gui buttons..
and the title name...

plain and simple :)

* then again.. If I can get T2D integrated and use T2D as the gui system.. :)

hmmmm...

and for side games.. :) hmmm.....
