My chair
Anyone have one of those fancy chairs? The ones with the air support, lumbar support, foldable, on-the-get-goingable(sp?)? Well, it sucks to be me, cause' I have nearly *none* of those features, in fact I doubt it has any features at all, except that it is wood, yeah, WOOD. The wood isn't even smooth at the edges of the chair, its rough. It isn't even that pretty either. It looks like someone puked on it while making it (I wonder why). So, why would I be posibbly be talking about a lousy chair that I sit on? About modeling, Programming, anything? Well, My point may sound far fetched (as I can tell how you could think it was), but actually, it's not, it is very vital to a game. You see, when working on progamming, coding, scripting, etc., you most likely will get nothing done, because the complete uncomfortableness of the chair, and it will most likely cost you ideas (ex: what you wanted to implement into the game), and time. So, I plan on getting a new chair (wow, that's my first goal).

Now, lets move on to some more important things, like stuff about the progress of my game, which will most likely make you just click onto something else, besides actually LOOK at it (yes, i do it too :). Well, if anyof byou know anything about my current game, good for you, and if you don't, I'll give you some info. Adventure Racing 3D is (self explanatory) a racing adventure game. You just go to different "worlds (my version of missions) that you go to, woohoo, sounds really fun, right?

Lemme just show you some *EARLY* SS of AR3D:
www.geocities.com/projectwebgames/AR3D.PNG

Yeah, compared to all yall's games, it looks pretty basic, but it is just a start. Oh, and forget the other buttons on the left, I didn't delete them before I shot the pic. Also, if anyone can tell me how I can get the buttons to stay in the same place at different resolutions, It would make me happy.

Hopefully, I can get the graphics to look a little better later. Please comment on the screen, and tell me what you want to see in a racing game.

Thanks for listening to me jabber, but hey, it is a .plan.

See Ya

Now that I set at home all the time and do nothing but game programing, I have to agree with the chair comment. I went to Office Depot and purchased a $70 chair - has a mesh back (which feels a bit like a hammock and lets air flow through - no more swetty back from a leather chair), contoured base, nice arms, etc. Makes a huge difference on how much time I'll spend setting :-)

As for the game looking basic (I can't look at the picture - it's on Geocities and you're over on bandwidth usage), it's all gotta start somewhere!

@Davis: You live in Wichita? That's where I used to live. On the east side of it (near Andover). BTW, You're Soo lucky!

We have nice meshy chairs at work, too. Very nice. If you're gonna be sitting all day, it's well worth the money to get a chair that treats you right. Much cheaper than back problems later on... ;)

Aye - I live on the east side, near Lincoln and Edgemoore. In a year or two I'm movin' out the the farm (where I belong - not fond of city living) near Eldorado.

Where ya' livin' at now?

And if you mean 'lucky' because I'm spending all day programming games... well, my income level for the last two weeks is nearly nill. But I've got customers paying up here shortly, and stuff like that - just that income fluxuates horribly at times.

IKEA has extremely comfortable (and inexpensive) leather executive chairs. It was the best purchase I've made in ages :)

Thanks all,

@Davis: I live in north Dallas (near the Amped Labs and Game Beavers crew, although I haven't met them)

oh, and yeah, now I know where your talkin' about. I lived near Kellogg on 143 st.

@Connell: I'll look into them. I think I found their site: http://www.ikea.ca/

I went through 3 different exectuive leather chairs in the last 11 years. My biggest beef with 'em: The back. It's wonderfully supportive, but, if the temperature isn't just right, my back sweats (I sweat easily, and in copious amounts). This might seem like a trivial problem, but after a year of sweating in the chair 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (was at the office) it can become annoying. The 12-16 hours a day, 7 days a week schedule I'm on now it would really suck. And to top it off, I tend to like to work with my shirt off when I'm working at home. Ya stick to leather after a while! :-P

ok davis that is just so much more about your back sweat than any of us really needed to know.

Oh GOD, must remove images from brain! *stabs fork into brain*

I agree with Paul, Davis :D

As for the picture, you just have to copy and paste it into a new browser window because geocities doesn't allow external linking of pictures.
