A old year is gone... Now on to the bad, the good, and the goals of this year...
The bad news first: Not at alpha yet. Things just didn't get done in time, and the hollidays slowed us down too much(you can't compete with Santa and Baby New Year), so that milestone slipped.
But the good news is that I can export animations from trueSpace now, testing out two different DTS exporters, and my own .mapExporter plugin is very close to being released. Just a few things to straighten out with it, and I should get it out next week.
In the meantime, there's a tutorial that I've written to aid those using trueSpace/gameSpace in creating interiors for export, and if anyone has feedback on it, they can email me. The first tutorial also doubles as the manual/user guide to the .mapExporter plugin.
In brief, this is what DigitalFlux has planned for releases throughout this new year:
- trueWorld pilot issue: a quarterly(or bimonthly, I haven't decided yet) pdf-based 3D tutorial magazine.
- worldScape: the third generation realtime terrain generator for trueSpace/gameSpace, with a vast power boost.
- Epic Frontiers: Starting small and growing larger, an independant persistent world title. Visit www.EpicFrontiers.com for info.
- Archetype: An offshoot of AI technology that I'm developing for Epic Frontiers, Archetype takes a personality-driven approach towards emotionally rich NPC's. Currently in 2nd generation of development.
- .mapExporter: Another offshoot of tools being developed to help Epic Frontiers get completed, this exports objects to the .map format for further conversion to TGE's DIF format. 95% done.
- edgeExtrude: Yet another tool, this one adds edge extrusion functionality to trueSpace/gameSpace. 90% done.
- autoWeld: A tool to add automatic vertex welding within a certain distance threshold for trueSpace/gameSpace.
- missionMan: A tool to aide in the creation of missions in TGE by allowing the use of trueSpace/gameSpace as an editor.
- Amber: An L-System to generate plants for trueSpace/gameSpace. 20% done.
- Texture packs/Model packs: Self-explanitory ;)

Like I say it ships when its ready, but I'm excited to hear about all the activity with TrueSpace! The TrueWorld mag sounds ambitious as do your other projects, keep us informed and we look forward to that alpha release!

@Kuhles: The DTS plugin's not mine to give, but I will say that it's close to being ready. To my knowledge there's 3 DTS exporters in the running(as well as a competitor to my .mapExporter). You'll have lots and lots of tools soon Kuhles. Patience =)
