Wow, more progress...
Okay, big change in the project this week. While I'm fighting some communications problems in the team, I've decided to stay home from my planned road trip vacation and dedicate the time to my project. If I didn't do this, I would have felt really bad, and it may have done some damage to the team's morale, since things had slowed in the past month.
So, I got two parts of the UI done up and inserted into the game the other day, though a few icons still need to be done. I also integrated almost 20 snippets into the engine.
This is one of the good things about TGE: The community. Any person can get a head start on developing any game not only because of the purchasing of the engine, but also because the community releases it's improvements for others to use. As the snippets stack up, the amount of time that the developers need to complete their games are decreased because they need to do less and less code from scratch. It's a wonderful thing.
So now that I've got so many of those snippets and fixes in(and there's plenty more where they came from), art assets are begining to crop up as the next big thing.
The second milestone(Milestone 1) should be acheived this week. That means that the next milestone will see playability coding that needs to be resolved. Interiors, the first player and textures, and the first items and monsters need to be created.
The automated combat system and combat rules will also be put into place during this timeframe, as well as the database schema and the test db.
If there's any programmers or artists 18 and older and looking to work on a project, you're more than welcome to. Check out www.DigitalFlux.com and email me for more info!
