Blog post
Hi! This is my first blog post.
I've seen a lot people on the forums and in comments saying that they use wings 3d to make their static models and then use all kinds of other (not-so-free) modelers (mostly milkshape) to export them to .dts or .map. We need a plugin for wings that will allow direct exporting to .dts and/or .map.
I've tried tons of modelers and wings turned out to be the best. Plus IT'S FREE!

Cheers!

I've had fairly good luck with Wings3d's .obj exporter, then importing into UV Unwrap Pro or Hexagon for UV mapping, then exporting back out to .obj, then importing back into blender to prep for an export to .dts.
I'm still a blender newbie, so unwrapping and skinning in blender is currently beyond my pain threshold.
When it works and doesn't crash (and it currently does not import .3ds UV coords and materials), Hexagon is tolerable.
