Well, I'm just getting started figuring out this website and how I can use it to help me learn the TGE. I've had the product since the Fall of 2007 and have just learned some important things about DIF and DTS files and the 3D programs I need to use to build them. Hopefully I can work on this stuff this summer and get the students learning in Fall 2008.

I'll keep plodding forward through the daunting task at hand. I hope I can survive...

Hang in there man. If it helps, set daily/weekly/monthly learning goals to keep you progressing.

Daily Example: Tomorrow I'll learn how to model a gun from a tutorial

Weekly Example: This week I will learn how to model, rig, and skin a vehicle

Monthly Example: This month I will have the basic mechanics of a game pulled together. Basic game funcionality, with clean and readable scripts/source so that I can begin to expand my concept into a real game.

Stuff like that...

Your not alone. You have the entire community to assist you, plus the Public and Private forums.
Many Devs in the community will recommend The Game Programmers Guide to Torque by Edward F. Maurina III
It's a very good book for beginners to advanced and can be used s a reference.

Ask in the forums about anything and everything that you need help with, It not only keeps the Smart ones razor sharp but also helps the newcomer to learn tricks or avoid snags.

Welcome to the community Jackal =)

@Brian

That's a very useful suggestion. I'm going to have to start doing that myself!
