- Summary:
- Programming
I have been programming in C / C++ for over 3 years, and am currently in college working for a Bachelors in Computer Science.
Past programming work has progressed from a text roleplaying game, a 2d tile-based adventure engine, tools for other games (including Half-Life and Anarchy Online), and now working with Torque.
Most of my major developments have been shared with the community, and I hope to keep it that way.
Level design:
I have been creating levels since Quake 2 came out in 1997. I have worked on making levels for many games, including: Doom, Quake 2, Half-Life, and Quake 3.
I have worked as level designer on many mods, including: Illuminati, Jailbreak, Headhunters, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike. And have contributed towards levels in Bushido, Team Fortress Classic, Existence, and Counter-Strike.
Ran level design site, "Fallout's Shelter" dedicated toward Half-Life based level design. After 6 months it was taken down due to hosting problems, but it remains on my hard drive and will probably show up in bits and pieces in the monthly GarageGames Newsletter.
Testing
I have been testing software and hardware for Microsoft's Xbox since June 2001, and have completed a college course in software testing.
Writing
I have always had a love for writing, all the way back from grade school. I enjoy writing things that are useful to other people, so the GarageGames Community Tune-Up is something I look forward to each month. I believe it's a very good example of my writing style (I'd say a mix of sarcasm and humor) as well as supporting that I can write technical pieces as well as editorial content.
Management
Currently helping manage the tenatively titled "Game Development Club" made up of University of Washington, Cascadia Community College, and Digipen students, instructors, and graduates who want to work in a non-virtual environment to create a game.
