Apr 04 - Present Using IBM Websphere Studio Application Developer, create an application with a Java front-end and a DB2 database to replace the current COBOL system. This legacy system was used for all HR and Finance task such as the payroll, leave, medical and retirement benefits of the 800,000 current postal employees plus the many retirees. I am involved in all phases of the project such as planning and design, coding, and debugging. I regularly have meetings with the clients to find out their wants and needs. This project is one of several upgrades of the various applications being done in the postal service. It is the only one that is on schedule and I was one of the programmers thanked by higher management for its success.
