- I have a formation of coder, but my main talent (according to everybody that knows me) is really the transmission of knowledge.. i.e. teaching.
I am a Jack Of All Trades that feels perfectly happy with never being the best, and with allowing others to get started in the quite difficult field that is computing, and hopefully becoming better than me in their own specialty.
I prefer not to be a specialist, as it would limit my scope, bias my view of things, and generally hinder me in the way I teach.
I also have a partial Fine Arts formation, which always comes in handy, and gives me a slightly different perspective when approaching problems... mainly meaning I am more disorganised and messy, but creative and enthusiastic when interested.
I also dont really care about making lots of money.
Everything to make me totally insuitable for becoming a corporate whore, in a word.
I have good social skills, unfortunately I am quite reluctant at team work, mainly because I consider my projects like personal creation just like I consider my art stuff. Hence I dont like the idea of someone else messing with what I do, just like I wouldnt like someone else messing with one of my drawings/sculptures/etc.
The Tao of Programming should be read by all first year Computing students :)
