Summary:
I have the official bio, but who really reads those besides your mother? I just moved to Eugene in July from Tahoe... plus I now seem to travel for a living. So I barely know my way around town and I am just getting to know everyone in the garage. So far... pretty impressed, some really smart people.

I get asked what is an Academic Coordinator, it\\\\\\\'s a good question. I don\\\\\\\'t have the best answer, as close as I can come is I translate from education to industry and vice versa. What I got told when they hired me was to do what I do and if I\\\\\\\'m successful GarageGames is successful. What I do is talk about the importance of game education and try to build bridges between education and the video game industry (and vice versa). Why is that so special? Well, what happens in a game studio is about innovation. How do you get innovation, by mixing some really creative individuals in computer science, design, art, business and the kitchen sink. People that will challenge one another and push each other and ideas and they work as a team. In a traditional classroom, it is really hard to teach innovation let alone teamwork. I happen to think that what is done in game education facilitates the development of innovators. So that is what I do, talk to educators all over the world about how truly unique putting students in those same scenarios that game studios face daily, encourage them to be facilitators of innovation and the rare art of teamwork.
