- Summary:
- Aftr being educated in Fine Art and Film-making in the 80's, I made Pop Promo's for a while before becoming a professional musician with UK band Cranes.
I left the band in '97 to persue other things, namely my own music and Art. I work by day as a multimedia designer, working with Flash!, video and a bit of 3D. My company makes stories and simulations for business and retail training (E-learning) I am constantly experimenting within this field and wish to push what I do to a new level, ignoring the reason I am here (to train a businessman to sell something maybe?) and looking at the HOW it can be achived in a new and interesting way. Our top end productions have been almost ARG-like (Alternative Reality Games) and have attempted to draw the user INTO the story. Aware that people are busy, we interspurse our small modules into their days in tiny chunks.. spreading a game over many weeks.
My interest in Torque is 3 fold..
1) Wanna know how to make a 3D game
2) ...got 3 ideas. 2 for my customers:
(One for a specific customer, and one that could be re-used with slightly different content for different customers),
3)...1 idea for me (an ARG that starts (after you sign up for it) as a short email. will use SMS, real telephone calls, visits to specially created web pages, a mysterious people that were inadvertantly created by humans, and live in the internet, worshiping they're creators... you learn about them, make contact with them (one of them to be exact) and finally go INTO their world in order to help them survive...)
Hence I need Torque... but I'm unfortunately not a programmer... and I need to make a demo before I can hire Torque wizards, cos I have to convince my guys at work that we can use this... so far... they are intriuged...
