- I learned programming first as a hobby, with the goal from the very beginning to make games (first tried to emulate a Mario style platform game in a cartridge BASIC for the IBM PC/Jr).
Took a detour from the hobby into web development as a paid job (using ColdFusion (4.5 then, now MX)). I also picked up PHP in order to do dynamic sites that were more supported by the webservers out there (very few allow coldfusion).
I did my first modding in college by studying the scripts in Starsiege, one of my all-time favorite games. In the end created a fairly successful mod called Ragnarok.
Studied software engineering in college, and created a 2D platform game as my senior project (in BlitzBasic). Graduated with a BA in CS.
