- Summary:
- I've had a fun time for years programming things like computers, handheld devices, controllers, VLSI testers, telecomm equipment, industrial equipment, computer peripherals, and smartphones.
My programming style as a developer is derived from my experiences as a user of code developed by other resources such as corporate IT groups. I specialize in compact, user-focused programming solutions, without all the overhead code that some tools or developers insist on dragging along. While other developers let the available tools drive the solution, I allow the project requirements to dictate first the solution and then the required tools.
I'm experienced with GUIs as well as under-the-hood programming.
Most of my programming work is proprietary, and most of my publicly-available work is invisible to the man on the street. The Chemical Equation Writer GUI (comprising the code, specifications and functionality) in Sparcom's chemistry card for the HP48 is one of my only "visible" works. I also wrote the book "HP48 Graphics", published by Grapevine Publications, Inc. a long time ago. The book is still selling after all these years.
For examples of my technical writing, search for "HP48 Graphics" on the web or search for "HP48 Depew" in groups.google.com. You can find my technical contributions in the Usenet groups comp.sys.handhelds, comp.sys.palmtops and comp.sys.hp48.
