I primarily enjoy being a designer. Before programming a system, I often design it to the smallest details. My flaw is that I'll often design something intensely, then never get around to implementing it!
Secondarily, I enjoy programming. I really only program to implement the designs that I spend so long on. I work in C++ nowadays, linking to DirectX for my gaming needs. Occasionally I'll link to another library (e.g. text-to-speech), but only if it's a major item to program. (I use my own linked lists, strings, etc... I'm a masochist :) )
Previous Programming Projects: (only listing the big ones)
* Partial-solver for combined complex travelling salesperson/transportation problems. BORING.
* Triangular-polygon raytracer... written in QBASIC. Fun :)
* Ground-work towards a people-simulator. Also fun!
