Summary:
I have 8 years of professional c++ experience, and 5 years of Java. I've written a couple finite-state machines (for text layout... nothing exciting), worked extensively with PDF (some 2d matrix math), and used a couple different crypto libraries. I've written a some SQL, but nothing to write home about.

Before I became a "real" programmer, I worked in Macromedia Director for about 3 years. I was involved with the usual PM/artist/designer crew in those environments. I haven't touched Lingo in Many Years.

The term "programmer art" was invented to describe my feeble efforts at this "drawing" thing. But I'm no stranger to photoshop et al, and have worked with artists in the past where I've usually had to "massage" their files to get the to work properly in Director.

I recently took a game programming class (www.palomar.edu, it'll take some digging) which I aced without working too hard ('cept for some last minute coding binges to get my final project in). I also waltzed through the associate "game industry overview" class, which was mostly a history lesson for gamers. Cool stuff. Didja know that the guy who founded Atari (the real one) also founded "Chucky Cheese's". Lots of little tidbits like that.

Game-wise, I've played just about everything, computer, RPG, LARP, you name it. An exposure to a wide variety of game mechanics has granted me the ability to come up with several possible solutions to any game-system issue I might come across. I've DMed quite a few RPGs, and have had fun twidling with the rules to fit my liking.

I've had some experience with martial arts, firearms, and sports, in RL. I'm a Dallas Stars (hockey) fan, but don't follow any other sport. I used to play soccer, little leage, and some volleyball.

I will kick your BUTT in foozball (yes, that was a challenge), play a decent game of pingpong, or chess, and have been known to make bad puns... prefferably while playing foozball. When people wince from a particularly nasty pun, their eyes close briefly. I'm evil like that.
