- Summary:
- My love of gaming, and of storytelling came together at the same time. My parents were caught up in the early-eighties belief that Dungeons and Dragons was a device of the devil, created to lure good christian children down the dark path of devil-worship and voting republican. As a result, my friends and I were simultaneously and immediately interested in, and ignorant of, what D&D was. I used my imagination, made up some rules that would have been GURPS if I knew what the hell I was doing, and I became my neighborhood's Dungeon Master.
When my friends and I gave up playing make-believe for sports and girls, I contunued writing. I would occasionally write down detailed plans for converting my stories into video games (quite the rage at the time...imagine). I never really put any effort into it however, the first MMORPG was eleven years away and the idea that games could provide an immersive storytelling experience was laughable.
Yeah, I spent a lot of time behind the learning curve.
But despite my shortsightedness regarding the revolutionary changes in the gaming industry, I kept writing, having ideas, and trying to convert them into games. Here on GarageGames, I work towards understanding the Torque engine and one day seeing one of my novels in game form. If a developer needs a writer to flesh out the storyline of one of their games, I'm always ready to hop on board and lend a hand.
The majority of my professional work is ghostwritten so writing
